How to add custom text to Lync meeting invitation

Here we are again with a common customers request.

How to customize the meeting invitation?

Well, the answer is: there is no supported way. As it is hard coded and has no template.

But, You can add a custom message to a meeting request by defining a transport rule on your Exchange Server 2010 or Exchange 2007 Hub Transport Server.

Every Lync 2010 meeting request contains a hidden text identifier, [!OC([1033])!].

In the Exchange Management Console on the Hub Transport Server, define a transport rule that searches for this identifier by using the option when the Subject field or the body of the message contains specific words. Then enter the custom text you want to be displayed.

  1. Bob says:

Is this possible using the Exchange Manager in Office365?

If I login to the Exchange Manager, and select the “Mail Control” options, I can setup a rule that will find the emails that contain the [!oc([1033])!] in the message body, but I cannot find an appropriate action to take that would replace that string. I reviewed the Transport Rules for 2010, and still cannot find the correct rule. Perhaps I am missing something.

    Thanks!

  2. I think everything wrote was actually very logical. But, think about this, what if you were to create a killer headline?
I am not saying your content is not solid., however what if you added a
title that grabbed folk’s attention? I mean How to add custom text to Lync meeting invitation | Hany Taha’s Blog is a little
boring. You should glance at Yahoo’s front page and watch how they create news titles to get people interested. You might add a related video or a pic or two to grab people excited about what you’ve written.
Just my opinion, it would make your blog a little bit more interesting.

  3. I’m not sure where you are getting your info, but great topic.

I needs to spend some time learning much more or understanding
more. Thanks for excellent information I was
looking for this information for my mission.
